PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUYAnother early effort (Their first released CD, as a matter of fact) , and a good one at that! 1986 (Original Japanese release) 2005 re-release Oglio records SK: Naoko & Atsuko Yamano with Michie NakataniWhile I really don't care for the "title" song, Antonio Baka Boy, there's plenty more on the album i do love. For instance, this album contains 5 songs that were later redone for my favorite SK CD, Let's Knife, most of them are in Japanese, and' it's fun to compare them with the later, much more polished versions. (One of them, Making Plans for Bison, was renamed Bear up Bison, for Let's Knife) Cover art (by Atsuko), is a strange combination of singing/dancing shellfish, surrounded by a border of 60s psychadelic art; wheras the back cover is the 3 girls, holding a giant replica of the pocket knife the band is named after while standing in front of a backdrop painted by Manabu Nakanishi (Whether this is the same Manabu Nakanishi as the former Japanese wrestling champ, or someone else with the same name, is not specified) (out of 5) Playlist: MAKING PLANS FOR BISON SUMMERTIME BOOGIE* I WANNA EAT CHOCO BARS PUBLIC BATH DEVIL HOUSE* ANTONIO BAKA GUY* ICE CREAM CITY* AH SINGAPORE* RIDING ON THE ROCKET* KAPPA EX* RIDING ON THE ROCKET (live)* KAPPA EX (live)* *japanese

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ MAKING PLANS FOR BISON By Naoko Yamano
Later remade (and renamed) as "Bear up Bison" on the CD "Let's Knife", You might say this is SKs contribution to ecology and the World Wildlife fund. The song is bouncy and fun, and is sometimes noted for it's pronunciation of the word "extinction" (ex-tinc-tu-tion); it's mesage seems to be that the bison can still thrive, if we just help it along.........even though it's a mishapen beast! Strangely, I think I prefer this song in the original Japanese!

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ SUMMERTIME BOOGIE By Michie Nakatani
Michie's list of things she likes to do during the summer; which consists of swimming, dancing and sleeping.....mostly sleeping, causing her Mother to complain that she's lazy! Cute and short, a fun but, undistinguished song

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ I WANNA EAT CHOCO BARS By Naoko Yamano
One of the earliest SK food songs, I don't love it, or hate it... it's just ok, I guess.

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ PUBLIC BATH By Naoko Yamano
You could almost call this the prototype of SK's "Story songs"; the most typical of the band's "Signature" songs: Songs that tell a little story of the little things in life, that give it meaning, at least in Naoko's opinion! A fun song in that strange way that only Naoko really understands

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ DEVIL HOUSE By Michie Nakatani
Michie wrote and sings this tribute song to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" later remade in English on the "Let's Knife" CD; it's fun and fast and the harmonies are great! Truly in my all-time top 10 SK songs

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ ICE CREAM CITY By Michie Nakatani
Michie sings here about the thrill of sitting on a beach, eating a double decker caramel ice cream cone; you can almost TASTE the sweet creaminess in her voice; the tempo is mainly slow, but, with one very nice uptempo chorus in the middle, this is another classic that shows why Michie was my favorite SK songwriter

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ AH SINGAPORE by Naoko Yamano
While the English version of this song emphasizes the almost obssessive cleanliness of this city, where even gum is illegal (Cause it messes up the sidewalk), the Japanese version talks about it's beauty, amazing skyscrapers and how it's " A future city"....it's a beautifully done song with a bit of an "Asian" sound and a nice beat, I prefer this Japanese version to the English one!

PRETTY LITTLE BAKA GUY SONG REVUE~ RIDING ON THE ROCKET By Naoko Yamano
I have a warm spot in my heart for this song, as it was the first SK song i ever heard**. The song starts right off with its driving beat and Naoko's then trademark buzzy guitar along with Michie's Fuzz bass, and then, the catchy lyrics begin and you can't help but want to sing along, even if you dont know the words! IKO-OH IKO-OH, Ishoni IKO-OH! This song is jumpy and fun.......truly THE typical SK song...if such a thing exists!
**The English remake from "Let's Knife!"
